Jarret Fire & Resuce strongly believes in creating a community that is safe and free from all fire and life-safety hazards. To further this goal the Fire Prevention Division works diligently to ensure that Von Ormy is kept safe, by proactively trying to prevent fires and emergencies from ever occuring. The duties of the Fire Prevention Division are as follows:
*To interface with the Bexar County Fire Marshal's Office, Fire Investigation Bureau, in order to ensure that the origin and cause of all serious fires are determined, in an effort to prevent them from happening again and to maintain wrtitten documentation of these records.
*To proactively educate the public in methods of fire prevention, by conducting fire and life safety education, and courtesy fire hazard surveys.
*To aggresively Pre-Plan all public and commercial occupancies within Jarret Fire & Rescue's Response District in order to ensure that we are thoroughly prepared to respond to emergencies at these locations.
*To work in conjunction with the Bexar County Fire Marshal's Fire Inspectors and Code Enforcement Officers to eliminate all fire and life safety hazards in the Von Ormy area.
*To work in conjuntion with the Fire Marshal's Office, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, TCEQ, to ensure that all outdoor burning is coordinated properly, and that it does not pose any risk to life, property or the environment.
